Steven Kellogg is an author and illustrator who has contributed 90 books for children. He is best known for writing books about animals, which he credits his grandmother for.

From there he won a fellowship to work and study in Florence, Italy for his senior year. Upon returning to the U.S., he attended grad school and taught at American University, and began working on picture books.
